Jenny Wilkinson is a Surface Pattern Designer and Illustrator living and working in London. She studied 3D Design For Production at Brighton University where she studied designing and making in ceramics, plastics, wood and metal. In her final year her passion for print and pattern was realised by creating a range of surface designed products including printed lampshades, etched wooden furniture, and hand screen-printed wallpapers.
After leaving Brighton Jenny moved to London and continued to work as a surface pattern designer, creating wallpapers and surface printed products using both traditional and digital techniques. Her clients have included Target, Gap, MoMA & Topshop.
Jenny has exhibited her designs both nationally and internationally, & her Wallpaper-By-Numbers collection was acquired by the V&A for their permanent collection.
Jenny finds inspiration all around her, she has a love of all things ‘printed & patterned’, and collects vintage printed ephemera, including antique maps, posters, fabrics and ceramics. She always has a camera and sketchbook in her bag, capturing pattern and surface design inspiration all around her.
More recently she has turned her creative attention to creating an illustrated A-Z, starting a blog called S is for Scribble, as an online sketchbook for her illustrations and sketching experiments. This year has seen a collaboration with her sister Vicki, creating a new online shop, S is for Scribble.co.uk, to print and sell her A-Z Art prints.
